Spicy malvani chicken curry |
Ingredients:
Fresh chicken -500
Onions-3 medium.
Ginger garlic paste-1 teaspoon.
Turmeric-1/2 teaspoon.
Salt-1/2 tablespoon.
Coriander leaves-1/2 cup chopped.
Oil for cooking-2 tablespoons.
For malvani masala:
Bay leaf-1
nutmeg-1/4
Cloves-5 to 6.
Dry red chillies-5 to 6.
Peppercorns-10.
Cinnamon stick-2
Cumin-1/2 teaspoon.
Coriander seeds-1 tablespoon.
Chilly powder-1/2 teaspoon.
Turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon.
For coconut masala paste:
Green chillies-3
Grated coconut-1/2 cup
Garlic cloves-5 to6.
Ginger-1/2 inch.
Preparation:
Marinate chicken with salt turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste,for half an hour.
Grind coconut masala into a paste.
Dry roast all the ingredients of malvani masala,except chilly powder and turmeric powder.Ground to powder.
In a pan, heat oil, add onions, bay leaf, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, fry till light golden brown,add coconut masala paste,mix cook for 5 minutes.
Add malvani masala powder, red chilly powder, salt to taste for masala(about 1/2 teaspoon.).
Mix chicken and add water.
Curry
Cover it and cook on a low flame for about 25 to30 minutes or till the gravy thickens and chicken is tender.
Taken into a serving bowl ,garnish with coriander and serve hot.
