Rava sheera(semolina sweet):

This sweet dish is made mostly on festivals and other special occasions in Telugu families to offer God(neivedyam).and distributed to family and friends who visit them, as prasadam.

Cooking time-20 minutes.
Servings-4

Ingredients:

  1. Semolina - 1cup
  2. Sugar -3/4 cup.
  3. Ghee -2 table spoons.
  4. Cashew nuts- 5 to 6.(chopped into small pieces)
  5. Melon seeds- 1 teaspoon.
  6. Raisins -10 to 12.
  7. Chironji seeds-1 teaspoon.
  8. Water -2 and 1/2 cups.

Preparation:
  1. Add ghee to a cooking dish,on low heat fry the raisins,cashew nuts,chironji seeds,melon seeds to light golden colour and take them to a cup.
  2. Now add semolina to the remaining ghee ,in medium flame,fry for 2 to 3 minutes or till the fried aroma come out.
  3. Boil 2 and half cups of water,add a slowly to the fried semolina ,by mixing .
  4. Cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Add sugar mix it ,allow to cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Now turn of the flame,sprinke cardamom powder and fried nuts and raisins.
