Tasty rasam made with tamarind juice  ,as a side dish served with any curry and boiled  white rice.Specially made during winters.Mostly cooked in Hyderabad and Telangana.

Ingredients:

2 cups of Tamarind juice extracted from lemon size tamarind add water.
3 green chillies slit into two.
1 small onion sliced
3 garlic cloves crushed
10 to 15 fresh curry leaves
1/2 teaspoon of pepper powder.
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
1/4 teaspoon of roasted fenugreek and cumin powder(jeera methi powder)
3/4 teaspoon of salt
For tempering:
1 teaspoon of oil
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
3 dry red chillies
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

How to prepare pepper rasam:
Heat oil in pan,add cumin,mustard seeds,dry red chillies, crushed garlic cloves ,allow them to turn light brown.
Add sliced onions, green chillies,curry leaves,cook for a minute.
Add tamarind juice,turmeric powder,roasted fenugreek powder,coriander powder,pepper powder and salt.
Boil for 4 to 5 minutes.
Serve hot.
