Sweet Poori

Sweet Poori/Chiroti:

Sweet poori is made in different parts of India with different names and different methods of preparing during marriages and festivals.This sweet is also made in Nepal ,called as fini or Phini.This sweet is as flaky as sweet puff pastry.

Ingredients:

Plain flour-250grams
Rice -5 tablespoons.
Butter-1/2 cup melted at room temperature.
Powdered sugar-1cup.

Oil for deep frying.

To make rice flour cream:

Wash and soak rice for an hour,drain all the water,make a very fine powder like talcum.
Add melted butter at room temperature.(we can add any essence to this rice cream for different flavours,i used pineapple  flavour )

(We can use store bought rice flour,we can see difference when eating it. )

To make the dough for roti:

Mix water,2 tablespoon of oil and plain flour.The dough should not be too sticky.Cover it and leave it for 10 minutes.
Divide dough into a medium lemon size balls.

Roll it into thin flat bread or roti.
Spread half teaspoon of rice cream.
Roll it ,air should not lock inside.
Cut it into equal length pieces.

Close edges and twist each piece,press it with both hands lightly.
Now press into round thick disc or poori .Do all the dough similarly.
Heat oil in a deep fry  pan,on medium heat.
Drop three to four pooris at time ,fry on low to medium heat,till light golden colour.
(Do not fry in medium or high flame,inside layer remains uncooked)
Place all the pooris on absorbing paper,allow them to cool for 3to 4 hours.

Sprinkle powdered sugar,on each poori on both sides.
