Sheer Khurma(Vermicelli Dessert)

Sheer Khurma is a sweet dessert for Eid,Sheer means milk and Khurma means dates.This recipe is made on Eid-Ul Fitr by Muslims in Hyderabad and many other places as a breakfast.Easy to make.




Sheer Khurma(Vermicelli Dessert)


Ingredients:

Vermicelli- 1cup.
Condensed Milk-1 tin(397 grams)
Fresh milk-500ml.
Sugar-2 table spoons.
Ghee(clarified butter)-2 tablespoons.
Dates(khajoor)-10 number.(chopped)
Almonds(badam)-5-8,chopped.
Pistachios green(Pista)-5-10.
Cashew nuts(kaju)-5-10.
Raisins(kismis)-5-10.
Melon seeds-1 teaspoon.
Chironji-1 teaspoon.
Elachi powder(cardmom poweder)-3 no or 1/4 teaspoon.

Preparation:

Boil milk and condensed milk together.
In another pan ,heat 2 table spoon of ghee.
Wash the dry fruits- Pistachios green,Cashew nuts(kaju),Raisins(kismis),Melon seeds,Chironji and wipe allthe water with a dry cloth.
Fry light golden colour in ghee in low flame and remove them from ghee.
In the left ghee,fry vermicelli for 2 minutes,add half of the milk,sugar.Boil for 3 to 5 minutes.add fried dry fruits,chopped dates and almonds,elachi powder,mix well,add remaining milk. Serve hot. Hyderabadi
