Goan Prawn curry

Goan prawn curry is mild spicy and thick gravy curry from coastal Indian,with lot of flavours of  Indian spices.Very tasty and easy to cook recipe.

Preparation time:10 minutes.
Cooking time :15 minutes.

Ingredients:

Prawns -250 grams,Marinate Prawns with 1 table spoon of ginger garlic paste ,1 teaspoon turmeric, 1 tablespoon salt , for at least half an hour before cooking.
Tamarind - Half a lemon size.
Onions -2 chopped.
Green chillies-3.
Curry leaves-20 leaves.
Turmeric-1/2 teaspoon.
Oil for cooking-2 table spoons.

Ingredients for Gravy preparation(Goan masala):

Fresh grated coconut- 1/2 cup.
Coriander seeds-1 table spoon.
Chilly powder-1/2 table spoon.
Cumin-1 /2 teaspoon.
Mustard seed -1/2 teaspoon.
Pepper powder-1/2 teaspoon.
Garam Masala -1/2 teaspoon.
Salt -1 teaspoon.
Fresh Ginger-1/2 inch.
Garlic pods-5 to 6.
Make a paste of all the ingredients.

Preparation:

Heat 2 teaspoons of oil, add prawns and saute for 3 to 5 minutes




Cooking procedure Prawn Goan Prawn Masala curry :
Heat a saute pan,add one and half table spoon of oil,add cut onions,curry leaves,green chillies and saute for a minute or till the onions turn light brown..Mean while extract tamarind juice by adding half a cup of water,make half cup of juice.Add the prepared Goan masala,saute for 2minutes.

Add turmeric extract,cook for 2 minutes, add sauteed prawns,allow to cook for another 3 minutes, add sliced green chillies.

Goan Prawn Masala curry
Can be served with rice or chapatti or nan.
