Burgol vegetable kichidi / Dalia  vegetable khichdi




Ingredients:

  1. Burgol (Dalia) -1/2 cup.
  2. Yellow Lentil (Moong Dal) -2 table spoons.
  3. Ginger garlic (finely chopped)-1 teaspoon.
  4. Curry leaves-10.
  5. Green chillies-3 scliced.
  6. Onion - 1 table spoon sliced.
  7. Fresh Peas(Mutter)-2 table spoon.
  8. Carrots -2 table spoons finely chopped.
  9. Cumin-1/2 teaspoon.
  10. Mustard -1/2 teaspoon.
  11. Dry red chillies -2
  12. Ghee / Oil -1 table spoon.

Procedure:

  • Wash and soak Burgol .
  • Yellow Lentil for five to ten minutes minutes. 
  • Take out Burgol and dals from water, squeeze all the water.
  •  Heat oil in a pan, add cumin, mustard dry red Chilies after they start tempering add onions, green Chilies, chopped ginger garlic. Sauttill onion turns to pink.
  • Now add green peas and  carrots saute for few seconds.

  1. Add salt to the vegetable.
  2. Add Burgol and Yellow lentil.
  3. Fry for a minute.
  4. Add one and half cups of hot water.
  5. Cook for five minutes less or more,until water completely evaporates  or Burgol and Lentil gets cooked.
  6. Serve hot as breakfast/lunch /dinner.All time meal for every one.
